When a Laptop is too big and a Blackberry is too small

When a laptop is too big and a Blackberry is too small, a netbook may be the perfect answer. Lots of people are buying netbooks as second computers because they provide the perfect balance of function, weight, size, and price.

The average netbook has a 9 inch screen (a vast improvement on a Blackberry), a full QRTY keyboard (with keys large enough for adult fingers) and a wireless connection. The wireless connection is critical, because netbooks are specifically designed for checking e-mail, browsing the Internet, and using web-based programs for word processing, project management, downloading illegal movies (oh wait, strike that) and many other activities.

Netbooks average 9” by 7” by 1” and weigh less than 2 pounds, so they are easy to throw in a briefcase, backpack, or purse. What’s more, at $300-$400, they are a relatively inexpensive way to stay connected no matter where you are---without the frustration of a postage stamp-sized screen or nanotechnology-sized keys.

Netbooks run with standard operating systems---Windows or Linux---so there’s no specific expertise required to keep them running (just stay in touch with Networkistics!)

Happy computing!
